Televised game shows have become a staple of American programming over the past fifty years. Shows like Jeopardy, The Price is Right, and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? have seen many iterations– whether with a new host or new element– but they have generally remained the same show generations have come to love.

The Wheel of Fortune has made simple changes over the years, and another one of those changes is in the works. 2020 has been a difficult year on everyone. Charitable contributions to food banks, homeless shelters, and more have become more important than ever, and the people at Wheel of Fortune want to help make a difference while spreading fun. Enter: Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.

The puzzle game remains the same at its bones. Hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White return to spin the wheel with contestants to answer word questions, and the winner goes home with prize money. But with celebrity contestants, the money raised will be awarded to the celebrity’s charity of choice.

“While some things may have changed behind the scenes and on the set to keep everyone safe, fans can expect to see the same Wheel of Fortune… they have come to love when the season starts,” a studio spokesperson says.

Though the show has started filming, the fun is not slated to air until 2021. Charities across the United States will receive money they desperately need to better the lives of eithers, while families will receive the joy we all need for the hour it is 0on.
